Our pastors selected "Ancient Practices" as the theme for the Summer Sermon Series for 2009.
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16
A growing number of Christians are turning to early spiritual practices as a means of tending their souls. In a fragmented world with so many suffering from spiritual disorientation, centuries-old faith disciplines such as fixed-hour prayer, fasting, tithing, sacred meals, Sabbath Keeping, and pilgrimage are helping to create in us an everyday sacredness and sense of the holy.
Together, we'll look for the ancient paths taken by the people of God and ask how walking in those ways might bring rest for our souls and direction to our modern lives.
